Can you kiss in public in Turkey? Yes, Turkey is a secular country but just be careful in some neighborhoods it is not very welcome to have long French kisses! But hugging your loved one and a kiss on the cheek is always okay.
Many parts of Türkiye have conservative dress and behaviour standards. Dress modestly, particularly at mosques and shrines. Respect religious and social traditions. Avoid public displays of affection.
Turkish Culture
The common greeting among friends and family is generally to give one or two kisses to the other person's cheek. It is polite to give a slight bow or nod to someone of authority (older or superior) as you greet them. Women may only give a physical greeting to other women (i.e. with a handshake or kiss).
In most of the Western world, such as Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, and Latin America, it is very common to see people holding hands, hugging and sometimes kissing in public. It is not usually socially acceptable to be overly explicit, such as engaging in sexual activities.
Gay couples are advised to use discretion and avoid public displays of affection. That said, same-sex couples in Turkey are also unlikely to engage in PDAs such as kissing as it's often frowned upon in Turkish society.
Pointing at someone is considered rude. People do not French kiss in public. When visiting homes, removing your shoes is commonly expected. When you sit down and cross your legs by putting your ankle of one leg on the knee of the other, make sure that the bottom of your foot is not pointing towards another person.
Non-Verbal. Physical Contact: Turks are generally quite open, tactile people. It is common for friends of the same gender to kiss during greetings, or hug one another. People are generally accustomed to seeing open affection between couples or children in public (e.g. hand-holding).
Many places in the Western world—including Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States, and South America—allow PDA. The accepted forms of PDA for heterosexual couples include holding hands, hugging, and kissing. In these regions, there are no explicit legal or cultural limitations.
There is no specific law in India that makes kissing, hugging or holding hands with one's partner in public illegal per se. However, Section 294 of the Indian Penal Code prohibits obscene acts or words in public which cause annoyance or objection to others.
And the best way to do that is to throw your audience a “KISS.” In other words, “Keep It Short and Simple.” Don't confuse “simple” with “simplistic.” We're not suggesting dumbing down what you have to say; it's expressing an idea that may be complex, using clear and simple language, avoiding jargon.
